Cantine Ermes 'Libero' Nerello Mascalese Terre Siciliane IGT
This rare grape from Sicily. packs a punch with notes of wild berries cherry, baking spices and a distinctive orange zest note, all while being medium bodied similar to a Pinot Noir. The volcanic soils of Mount Etna produce a beautifully rich flavor profile and impart a mineralogy and hint of crushed gravel. Versatile enough to pair with a variety of foods.

Mary Taylor Anjou Blanc
This is my go to holiday pick. Affordable enough to share with the whole family and round enough in taste and mouthfeel to stand up to big holiday feasts. Mary Taylor is an excellent negotiant who's goal is to bring affordably priced Old World wines to folks in the US.
From Loire Valley (Anjou), 5th generation Pascal Biotteau produces a beautiful Chenin Blanc with balancing act between textural richness, orchard fruit, and mouthwatering acidity.

Agnés Paquet Cremant de Bourgogne
Agnès Paquet took over the family farm in 2000 and has been producing excellent Burgundy wines from Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Aligote and Gamay ever since.
This traditional style cremant (term for champagne/traditional style wines produced in France outside of Champagne) comes alive with aromas of red and golden delicious apples, citrus zest, fresh bread and white flowers plume from the glass.

Ronco dei Tassi Cjarandon Riserva Collio Rosso D.O.C.
Loving this wine for the winter and holiday season! Rich and full bodied, it feels like a warm blanket.
The only red wine produced by Ronco dei Tassi, the Cjarandon Riserva is released exclusively in favorable vintages for Collio reds. The wine takes its name from the vineyard where the grapes for this “Super Friulian” are grown, and this predominantly Merlot (with Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc) blend is aged for two years in Allier oak barrels plus an additional year in bottle, giving its intense ruby red color subtle garnet reflections as well. The nose is generous, intense and persistent with notes of dark fruit, black pepper and graphite. On the palate, the Cjarandon is bright and juicy, round, full and intense with a fine dusting of tannins and a beautifully long finish.

Iruai ‘Giallo' Nebbiolo 2021
Iruai Winery (“ear-oo-eye" … the artist formerly known as Methode Sauvage) was started in 2013 by Chad and Michelle Westbrook Hinds in Berkeley, CA as a gypsy natural wine project, before laying down roots in the mythical Shasta-Cascade mountains of Siskiyou County.
From Iruai:
'Giallo' refers to the hyper stylized, pulpy horror films that came out of Italy in the 60's, 70's and 80's. Giallo's are my favorite thing to come out of Italy. My second favorite thing are the rugged and savage expressions of the Nebbiolo grape to come out of the Valtellina region of the Italian Alps. Giallo (the wine) is an homage to those wines. Made from Nebbiolo grown at 3,000 ft. and aged for 90 days on the skins, Giallo is a brooding and perfumed beast that attacks you with concentrated spice and groovy texture. It's sexy, hypnotic, and set to Italo Disco. Discerning swingers drink ‘Giallo.’
Notes of Ripe Plum . Rose Petals . Garrigue . Dark Chocolate . Strawberry Lipstick
Only 250 cases produced.

Avanti, Delle Venezie Pinot Noir
100% Pinot Noir from the Delle Venezie region in north-eastern Italy, considered one of the best places in the world to grow wine grapes that produce balanced, varietally correct wines. The beautiful, hilly region is bordered by the Alps to the North, and the Adriatic sea to the southeast.
A delicate perfumed nose with red berry flavors prominent on the palate. Dry and medium to light-bodied with bright acidity balancing the silky tannins.

Iconic Wines, Sidekick Merlot
Sidekick Merlot 2020 is 95% merlot and 5% Cabernet Franc. This is a silky and structured pour with dark fruits & a wood smoke/cedar thing going on. A wine that is flying under the radar but that you should grab now. Merlot has fallen out of fashion for far too long, thanks alot Paul Giamatti. This is one of the true great grapes of the world.

Freschello+, Bianco
A light and fleeting blend from Italy. This dry + elegant pour is a blend of Garganega (offering lean peach with an undercurrent of citrus) and richer Trebbiano (providing a golden hue, stone minerality + honeyed qualities) that is lively in the mouth with great tension between weight and acid.

Akutain, Rioja Cosecha
The Akutain Cosecha is comprised of mostly Tempranillo with a small percentage Garnacha, hand-harvested from the family parcels, fermented in fiberglass vats with native yeasts and a short maceration, and raised over winter in fiberglass vats before being bottled without filtration or fining. Another Jose Pastor gem.

'A Vita, Cirò Rosso Classico Superiore Riserva
The Riserva is 100% Gaglioppo from the vineyard Muzzunetto, the oldest vines of the estate, planted in 1968, facing north. The grapes were harvested in the first week of October at 50hl/ha. Fermentation was spontaneous with an extended maceration of one month, after which the free-run juice is drained (not pressed). Aged one year in a 2000L Slavonian oak botte. It undergoes a wide filtration and is then bottled-aged until four years after the harvest.
