September Wine Club

Bora Tier

Breeze Staff & Our Season's Favorite Roses!

Rose wine is one of our favorite categories year in and year out at the shop. They are versatile, delish, beautiful with food, stunning without vittles, and a wonderful vino to have in your glass or a can; be it by the pool, on a walk (hey - don't judge!), or with friends and family. This month as we close out the traditional “rose season” we are excited to show some of the Rose Wines that the staff has enjoyed over the year. Each will be bright, refreshing, and an absolute delight. Cheers!

Food Pairing - Golf Carts. Pool Days. The Movies. Thanksgiving Dinner - Leo swears by it and it is on his table every year for Turkey Day.

Mary Taylor Bordeaux Rouge Neither glitzy nor flashy, but still this wine perfectly embodies the region’s rural soul. A signature blend of 50% Merlot, with equal parts Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon, even at its modest price point it possesses much of the dark-fruited complexity that made Bordeaux famous in the first place but rendered in a brighter, more refreshing frame. Mary Taylor is crafting some of the best wines today, and her wines are a go to for quality and value.

Food Pairing - Smoked Chicken. Pulled Pork. Pasta and a simmered red sauce. Chateau Curton La Perriere

The 2019 Château Curton La Perriere is a wonderful everyday Bordeaux, offering attractive red-fruited, spicy aromatics, medium to full body, a beautifully lush, supple texture, and a great finish. It has a wonderful mid-palate depth as well as length on the finish, and is truly a diamond in the rough.

Food Pairing - Beef Skewers. BBQ. Shepherds Pie.

Le Mistral Tier

Sottimano Mate

This wine is one of the most unique wines you’ll find in the shop. It also happens to be one of Leo’s favorite wines year in and year out. Released only once a year, this is a red wine with fresh, aromatic and light notes which are prevalent out of the bottle. It smells intensely of flowers, such as rose and violet, with some accents of berries and aromatic, almost dried, herbs. The taste is dry, has notes of cedar, very aromatic, full of fresh fruit, and finishes with slender freshness.

Food Pairing - Filet. A Summer or Fall Salad. Sauteed Shrimp Pasta. Sea Bass.

2006 Arcanum Red

We are excited to present a vintage gem that is drinking sooooo beautifully today.

Arcanum is the pinnacle of the estate’s offerings. Based on Cabernet Franc, the true signature of the estate, this remarkable wine is built to age yet is drinkable young, offering aromas of violets, roses and raspberries, with long and delicate spice notes; it is a wine that is seductive yet subtle. Arcanum is sourced primarily from the L’Apparita and Belvedere blocks of Cabernet Franc. With superb exposure and sandy clay soils, each year these blocks shine to produce the finest expression of the variety, and the leading wine of the estate.

Presenting a dark ruby, opaque center, this 2006 Cabernet Franc blend boasts elegant aromas of dark plums, black cherries and hints of anise while lavender and spice add to the senses followed by a dusty mineral core. The palate of this wine reveals flavors of black fruits and fig, followed by a moderate plus acidity creating a balance that exudes a full-bodied texture. Earthy tones, and tobacco make for a lasting and complex finish to this classic Tuscan wine.

Blend: 47% Cabernet Franc, 43% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon

Food Pairing - Hearty Charcuterie. Penne Con Salsiccia. Date night at a great restaurant with a corkage fee - relax & enjoy.

E. Guigal Rose

E. Guigal by many is considered the pinnacle of much of the wine coming from the Southern Regions of France. This Rose furthers that belief - light in body and a bright orange-pink shine in the glass. Vibrant red currant, raspberry and orange zest aromas show very good clarity and take on a spicy white pepper quality with air. In a lithe, precise style, offering tangy red berry and blood orange flavors and a subtle floral nuance which creates a wonderful experience with each drink taken.

Food Pairing - Fresh Seafood. Homemade Pasta with a Cream Sauce. Grilled Octopus & a Citrus Salad.
