Mary Taylor Sicilia Bianco
This is 100% Grillo grown on a single hectare in the Gorghi Tondi and Preola Lake Nature Reserve in Western Sicily, slightly south of Marsala in the commune of Mazara del Vallo. 100% organic with rich saline and bright Mediterranean citrus notes.
This dry, warm and sunny island has been at the center of Mediterranean winemaking for 4,000 years, but most refined by Greek viticulture practices. The Sala family have been farming their vineyards here for four generations, working with native grapes only. The DOC of Sicilia itself, which was upgraded from IGT to DOC status in 2011, covers the entire winemaking surface of Sicilia and allows for dozens of grape varieties. Everything from the vines to the winemaking is certified organic and done by hand, including the harvest. The grapes are immediately brought to the winery (literally a few yards away) and gently pressed. The grapes' skins macerate with the juice for 4 hours. The Grillo is fermented in stainless steel tanks, where it ages on the lees for 2-3 months more before bottling. It then matures in bottle for a further 3 months before release.
Tobe Nwigwe - I Got the Juice
Torreguaceto, Pietraluna Negroamaro Salento
An esoteric red grape variety native to Southern Italy. It is grown almost exclusively in Apulia, particularly in Salento, the peninsula famously referred to as the "heel" of Italy. Blue to black berry fruits with charming notes of spices, warm fruits, and a medium to full bodied texture. Fall is coming, and this is the bottle to greet it.

The wine displays a lovely red color and a fruity nose, while being full bodied and silky with a fine tannic core. Sneaky acid helps to show bright fruit + keeps you coming back for more. Beautiful wine that is ready to drink now, but could age 5-7 years.

Black cherry on the mid-palate with crushed graphite and a touch of vanilla. It shows complex aromas of freshly crushed fruit (blackberry and plum), pepper and tobacco. Velvet-smooth tannins round out the bottle and make for a delightful pour.

The grapes are direct pressed, then bottled partially fermented to coax a natural secondary fermentation in bottle. Fun bubbly done the old school way.

A precise and generous wine with notes of white flowers and fruits. It is unctuous on the palate with a lovely freshness. 45% Grenache blanc, 25% Roussanne, 15% Clairette, 10% Bourboulenc, 3% Piquepoul, 2% Picardin over Rocky alluvial Rhone soils (galets) and red clay. This is a rich, round and elegant wine from an iconic producer.

Founded in 1991, Juan Carlos Vizcarra is one of the pioneers of the garagiste (garage wine) winemaking movement in Spain. Today, his estate winery Bodegas Vizcarra Ramos is considered among the top producers in Ribera del Duero.
Juan Carlos’ philosophy is centered on producing wines of elegance and finesse. To prevent harsh tannins and produce soft, elegant wines, Juan Carlos places great importance on careful vineyard work and gentle winemaking techniques. Relatively fertile, the soil (clay and limestone with gravel subsoil) has plenty of organic material with good water retention. At the winery, Juan Carlos does with winemaking exclusively by gravity. Allowing gravity to move the wine from fermenter to tank to barrel means nothing mechanical agitates the delicate fruit or extracts excess skin or seed tannins. The resulting emphasis is on the fruit rather than the tannins.
This tempranillo has aromas of mashed berries, cheese rind, oak and milk chocolate carry the nose of this wine. The choppy palate is tannic and biting, while this tastes of game and berry fruits prior to a grapy finish
