December Holiday Merriment

As the holiday season falls upon us, here are a selection of gems that way over deliver, and will complement a plethora of holiday meals. Cheers!

Bora Tier

Chateau Haut Branda Sauv Blanc

Classic Bordeaux Sauv Blanc that is bright and brilliant with lovely notes of white peach, citrus, and beeswax. Elegant and great fruit that is focused, clean, and shows a crisp finish.

Food Pairing - Grab some oysters (Follow LouOysterCult on IG for Oyster pop ups!), crush and enjoy.

Chateau Haute Genin

Wonderful Bordeaux that is 35% Merlot, 30% Cab Franc, 30% Cab Sauv, and 5% Malbec. Black fruit, vanilla and fresh herbs jump out of the glass. Fresh and fruit, this vino is balanced by light tannins and finishes long and pleasing. Killer pour for the next coming months.

Food Pairing - Roasted Duck. Braised Lamb Shoulder. Thick crust pizza. Confidencial Reserva Red

This wine shows great diversity of complex aromas (due to its blend of 8 different grapes), such as red fruits and vanilla. Medium body in the mouth, it reveals again sensations of red fruit, harmoniously integrated with wood notes and fine tannins provided by aging in 250 liters oak barriques. Bright acidity and complexity balance the ripe fruit, chocolate and wood notes. Enjoy!

Food Pairing - Pizza. Charcuterie. A proper Philly.

Le Mistral Tier

Brewer-Clifton Sta. Rita Hills Chardonnay 2017

This appellation blend carries that aromatic hallmark of this winery's Chardonnays, with a streak of walnut oil that decorates the marmalade and toast tones. The palate is bright in acidity, giving energy to the flavors of walnut paste, dried orange peel and sun-dried honeysuckle. Graceful and balanced.

Food Pairing - Dover Sole, Roasted Pork Loin, Seafood Pasta with veggies and a cream sauce.

Storybook Mountain, Four Reds Napa Valley

64% Cabernet Sauvignon, 22% Petit Verdot, 8% Merlot, and 6% Cabernet Franc

This is a more accessible, but still well-structured version of the traditional (and highly acclaimed) Cabernet, with the true Bordeaux traits of herbs and forest floor to go with its berry fruit. It remains typically Storybook in its clean, focused mouthfeel that provides attractive berry fruit while avoiding sweetness and produces instead a flavorful rendering of Bordeaux's unique savory and fruit forward combination.

Food Pairing - Smoked Ribs. Braised Beef. Hearty Pasta.

Camp Cabernet Sauvignon

63% Cabernet Sauvignon from the Gusto Vineyard (certified organic) in Redwood Valley, 14% Cabernet Sauvignon from the Trieb Vineyard (organic) in Alexander Valley, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon from the Prior Vineyard (certified organic) in Sonoma Valley, and 13% Merlot from Mojon’s Bench (organic) in Alexander Valley, All lots were fermented in stainless steel and aged 13 months in neutral French oak barrels. This wine is bright, with wonderful acid, a lingering mouthfeel, fruit forward, and super crushable.

Food Pairing - Sea Bass. Braised Beef. Veggie Lasagna.
